Tungsten: Promo 2012
20/03/12 || gk
Was Jerry Cantrell’s solo stuff big in Sweden? Sounds like it might have been. Tungsten are the second Swedish stoner band I’ve heard recently that seem to take most of their inspiration from “Degradation Trip.” The guitar tone is nice and fuzzy and not as clean as what I heard on One Inch Giant. In fact, the two bands are quite interchangeable and have no real defining characteristic. Overall, the songs have no bite to them and nothing about these 3 songs sticks in the head. The 3 songs on this promo are a taste of what’s to come on their debut full length due out later this year and going by the evidence here, there’s not much reason to listen to the full length when it does comes out. This is some mild, inoffensive hard rock masquerading as “stoner.”
5/10 in a completely unremarkable way.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
